Minors, Know Your Rights!

According to a survey given to minors about their rights and laws, we have come to the conclusion that minors need to become more educated on what the law is. So we put together a prezi presentation to do so. Throughout the prezi we educate minors regarding emancipation from several articles and a video, being arrested and prosecuted along with juvenile detention centers also from articles and a video. We also got plenty of information on the basics of minor law. In the prezi there is also information from an interview with a child advocate lawyer. For the best view of our presentaion click on more and then full screen!

Interesting blog post. Using a survey was a nice touch, and the interview really helped to establish credibility. I now clearly understand that kids these days have no idea what they're talking about. What do you propose doing about that?

You guys did a really good job with the presentation, and it was very exciting. I learned a lot of valuable information such as emancipation, and other juvenille laws. However, I wish you guys had talked to an expert in the field to get some more valuable information from a credible source. One piece of information that suprised me was that if parents get divorced, a child is not able to choose which parent will raise him. Overall, the presi was great, I loved the survey idea, but you should have interviewed a credible source and listed your sources where you got information. Good job.

Very good Prezi. I liked how you used a survey it helped bring the point across that minors dont really know their right. I think it would have been cool to interview a police officer to get a opinion from someone in the feild.

I realyl enjoyed reading this because since I am still a minor I never knew alot of the info. Alot of older people think just bcause your a kid you have no rights although kids do have certain rights people dont appreate or value. I think after reading this people should value kids rights more. 0 Matt 0

The presentation was informative definitely on the topic of Juvenile Detention Centers because I was not aware about anything involving the topic. I believe that everyone should always have the right to satisfy the needs of his or her religion and spiritual life which makes me question why that is a specific part of the law. I wonder if adding a court case that is popular and teens should have a better understanding of would add to the presentation. One like Tinker vs. Des Moines.

I really like this presentation. I really liked the fun facts they were really interesting and also really liked the survey it shows how much kids know what they can or cannot do. I really thought it was informative. I learned things that i didn't know before such as that minors don't have a say in when they get to see their parent when their parents are divorced. Also I learned that minors have a right for a safe environment in the detention centers. Thank you for posting this now I know what laws are affecting me.
